THE ASCENT BEGINS...
Hi. I'm something of a miniatures enthusiast. I buy miniatures for a range of reasons — wargaming, roleplaying, or because I like the look of them and just want to paint them. I recently got back into the miniature painting and wargaming hobby after a bit of a hiatus and, over the last couple of years, have been buying models at high velocity. And, this has lead to something of a problem...
My miniatures collection, shown above, is a mound of (mostly) grey plastic. It's in no way as large as some peoples', but is possibly larger than others. But what really counts is how large this is to me. There's over 1000 figures spread across all these boxes and my office. But only a fraction of them are painted — the rest are in various stages of completion, from bare metal or plastic, to primed, to started and never finished. In total, approximately a fifth of them have been fully completed, leaving over 800 models to paint up.
